GATE

ASL GATE, our first Exchange, was hosted by the art team at the American School in London, bringing together 33 art teachers from 20 countries.

The experience moved between historical, contemporary, and natural contexts, with visits to the V&A, the National Gallery, and Tate Modern, alongside rephotography in the streets of Soho and sketching among the trees of Hampstead Heath.

Workshops included sculpting with light, deconstructing and reconstructing chairs, surface design in clay, and storytelling through fashion. Sunday sessions featured a sewing bee and experiments with virtual reality.

This first Exchange marked the beginning of something that went beyond professional development. Friendships formed here continue to grow from one Exchange to the next.
