ASD GATE 2025
The American School of Doha, Qatar

Set within a rapidly evolving cultural landscape, the experience was shaped by contrasts between contemporary architecture, desert surroundings, and the warm hospitality of the ASD community. Place-based learning included a photo walk, urban sketching, and a visit to the National Museum of Qatar.
Workshops ranged from watercolor mapping and collaborative filmmaking to cyanotype and VR art-making, with studio sessions including surreal printmaking and a sketchbook exchange.
Time together was just as memorable, whether strolling through local markets, watching the sun set over the skyline from the beach, or joining a night cruise aboard a traditional dhow.
ASD GATE was hosted by the visual arts team at the American School of Doha, marking the first time the Exchange took place outside of Europe.
